The Center for Special Operations
Training (CSOT) is a comprehensive center designed to train, prepare, and consult the community,
firefighters, law enforcement, emergency medical services, public
health, and medical personnel in an integrated
approach to major emergencies. Recent terrorist attacks against the United States have increased
awareness of the Nation’s vulnerability to terrorism. In today’s
offerings of disaster based training,
mass casualty incident response preparedness, is often ignored, yet, is a critical component of
disaster planning for a safe community.
Emergency
preparedness has taken on an increased importance. First responders must
play a key role in
coordinating efforts to better prepare for such disaster scenarios.
The Center For Special Operations
Training at Albert Einstein Healthcare Network has become a major resource through various training and
educational programs to prepare our communities for an all hazards
disaster.
While utilizing a database of
professional instructors, experts, and researchers, The Center
coordinates and sponsors training programs for the
targeted populations, while simultaneously supporting the needs of the
regional counter terrorism task
forces.
The Center for Special
Operations Training (CSOT), established at the
end of the Year 2003, came into being as a major resource to serve, guide,
train, and consult with the community and the emergency personnel that
serve our citizens, in the proper
means to prepare ourselves to respond to an “all-hazards” disaster.
Completely focused on our customer needs, we are
dedicated to providing and maintaining highly responsive training,
consultation, supply, maintenance and
administrative support to our customers and health care providers for
an all hazards disaster, whether,
natural or a man made incident.
It was developed with a comprehensive
approach to the threat of weapons of mass destruction that includes
emergency response, research,
preparedness, and training and education. CSOT will provide resources
for all first responders, whether they are
pre-hospital care personnel or hospital based professionals, as to the
recommended response to disaster
incidents and how to plan for and manage such events.
Proposed Activities and Services:
The proposed activities of the Center
for Special Operations Training will include both training and educating emergency personnel, based on the
specific needs of the client. The Center will be able to build training programs and drills, as well as
emergency plans for various disaster related incidents while utilizing
the guidelines of the Department of Homeland
Security, CDC, OSHA, and/or JCAHO, and based on the needs of the client.
The following courses can be offered
to your agency, on and off site, based on the specific needs of the
emergency responders that serve in your company.
Please note that CSOT personnel are qualified and credentialed to
offer all the following
programs.
